If you’ve worked with a Realtor before, you’ve likely heard the term “MLS” thrown around from time to time.
And while those of us in the industry are intimately familiar with the MLS – Multiple Listing Service – members of the public might not be very familiar with what it is.
This week, Suzie, Katie, and I sat down to discuss the secrets of the MLS and the benefits it offers buyers and sellers, as well as how Realtors use it to serve their clients better. You can catch our conversation on the topic in the video below:
As we note in the video, the MLS isn’t just a way for Realtors to help sellers get more eyes on their homes. Instead, the MLS benefits buyers as well because your Realtor can access every home that’s on the MLS in Fremont County and search for homes that meet your criteria.
That means that if you’re looking for a three bed, two bath home with acreage, we can find it in the MLS whether it’s in Kinnear, Lander, Shoshoni, or points in between.
Of course, not all real estate agents participate in the MLS, which as we discuss in the video is a big disadvantage for buyers and sellers. Without your home in the MLS, it’s harder to find buyers, and if you’re a buyer, your real estate agent might not know about homes that fit your criteria because they can’t access the MLS.
The point here is that the MLS provides an invaluable service to Realtors, and if you want to reap the benefits that the service provides, be sure that you work with a Realtor that belongs to the local MLS service!
