At Wind River Realty, we strongly believe that Riverton and the surrounding communities are a great place to live, work, play, and raise a family. To illustrate that point, here is some community information we think will be helpful in describing the place we call home.
While Riverton only has about 10,000 residents, it is the economic hub of Fremont County, with a large part of the population employed by Central Wyoming College, School District #25, various oil and gas companies, and in agriculture. Riverton also has excellent shopping opportunities, with various national chain stores interspersed amongst small, locally-owned shops that make up the quaint downtown section of Riverton. With low sales tax, no state income tax, and low property taxes, Riverton is a great place to establish a home.
If you enjoy the outdoors, central Wyoming is the place to be. Fremont County is home to two state parks, hundreds of thousands of acres of pristine wilderness, high mountain deserts, stunning canyons, excellent fishing, and some of the best rock climbing in the world. See it all in the video above! Fremont County also has abundant sunshine, average summer temperatures in the 80s, and lots of clean Rocky Mountain air to breathe. Here at Wind River Realty, we count ourselves lucky to be able to live in such a spectacular place. We also take pride in the effort we make to help our customers build a new life here.
Part of our philosophy at Wind River Realty is to be involved with the community. Each fall we host a Halloween party so that community families have a safe place to take their little ones Trick-or-Treating. We host weekly Friday Coffee hours from 8:00-10:00 AM as well. This gives us a chance to interact with members of the community, answer questions, and just have some fun! Wind River Realty is also a proud sponsor of the Riverton PAWS For Life Animal League. PAWS For Life is a non-profit organization that has saved the lives of countless animals since it’s inception in 1993. PAWS For Life relies solely on the generous donations of local businesses and community members. As such, a portion of each transaction at Wind River Realty is donated to the shelter in order to help care for our four-legged friends. For more information about the PAWS For Life Animal League, visit their website at www.pawsriverton.com.
